The sounds of talking, laughing and getting to know one another filled Louie’s Wine Dive the night of the CREW-St. Louis New Member Happy Hour on Oct. 23 in Clayton.

Since the event was postponed in September, attendees were excited about the chance to get together and mingle as well as find out more about CREW and the people involved in this organization. Glasses did not stay empty very long, and the delicious appetizers filled the table, courtesy of Louie’s Wine Dive staff.

“I love the CREW-St. Louis Happy Hour events,” says Katie Goldberg with IMEG Corp. “They are a great way to meet new people, catch up with old friends and network with fellow members. The Happy Hour at Louie’s Wine Dive was especially great. It was well-attended by a diverse group of women. The atmosphere was welcoming, the food was great, and the company and camaraderie was even better! I met several new women that I’m sure will turn into long lasting contacts and friends.”

The event was attended by both members who had recently joined CREW within the last year and long-time members who love meeting new people and helping them navigate through the organization and the industry.

With 17 people in attendance, it was great to see so many new faces at the New Member Happy Hour,” says Lauren Berry with Gershman Commercial Real Estate. “I thought it was a good idea to add another New Member event to the calendar this year in addition to the New Member Breakfast in Spring because it allows the new members another opportunity to meet one another. Louie’s is always a wonderful venue to host such an event. The attendees I spoke with along with myself had a very positive experience. Per usual, I look forward to the next event and running into the same individuals I met at the New Member Happy Hour.

For Katie Seibel with Central Bank of St. Louis, she found the event a great opportunity to meet new people in a more personal setting.

I really enjoyed the CREW Happy Hour. It was a great way to gather our new members, the President, and other members of the Board in a smaller, more personal setting,Seibel says. “It gave me an opportunity to meet several new members and hopefully provide them with another friendly face to look for at CREW-St. Louis events.

The laid-back atmosphere made the event very welcoming for Niki Chapman of Cushman Wakefield and helped her enjoy it even more.

It was a casual, laid-back scenario where you can feel more like yourself and less like you are selling something or yourself,” Chapman says. “I think there would be a real benefit to more gatherings like these events outside of the committee meetings. It would give members more of a chance to get to know people outside of their designated committees and give them a broader knowledge of what CREW-St. Louis has to offer.
