Greetings fellow CREW-St. Louis members,
We just celebrated our mission in action at the 13th Annual CREW-St. Louis Networking Awards. What a fitting tribute to our organization’s role in advancing, educating and supporting women to influence the commercial real estate industry. Every honoree lived up to this mission and more.
We also honored Lesley Hoffarth, President and Executive Director of Forest Park Forever, as our Woman of Influence. Every St. Louisan knows that this urban oasis continues to shine as a crown jewel thanks to Lesley’s leadership.
Congratulations to all our award winners. You inspire all of us with your efforts to move our organization, our industry and our region forward.
I also want to extend my appreciation to our Awards’ Chair, Stacey Kamps, and Co-chair, Dawn Humphreys, along with their committee members – Susan Chapman, Anna Ives, Mande Meyer, Christine Ostrowski, Nancy Petersen and Tim Sitek – for making this event as special as the awards presented.
We also kicked off our Mentorship Program, with many of you responding to this effort. Mentoring remains a key way to Disrupt, to help every member meet their career objectives and goals. Whether a mentor or mentee, you will benefit greatly from the counsel you give and receive.
I am living proof that our members offer great advice and direction. I recently decided to make a career transition after more than two decades with the same firm. To do so, I met with several members to gain their insights, to hear their experiences and to carefully explore my options. These mentors helped me weigh so many factors in my decision. Their direction proved invaluable in charting my course.
I found my latest career path and have recently joined the firm of SmithAmundsen. SmithAmundsen is a full-service business firm headquartered in Chicago with more than 180 attorneys in offices across the Midwest. It is steadily growing with nearly 30 attorneys in our St. Louis office. This move will provide me with an entrepreneurial regional platform in which to service my clients and grow my practice. I look forward to being part of SmithAmundsen’s exceptional team. I am very excited to announce my new firm has shown its support for CREW-St. Louis with a Gold Level Sponsorship.
I am so thankful for the support of so many members. CREW-St. Louis has always been such an incredible resource. I attribute much of my success to the skills that I have learned and the network that I have built. If you haven’t done so already, my story shows why maintaining your membership provides an abundance of benefits and opportunities.
I also encourage you to support the CREW Network Foundation. We continue to make strides in supporting this vital philanthropic arm of CREW Network. While we have already met two goals of the Chapter Challenge – 100% board participation and a $1,000 contribution from our chapter – we are three-fourths of the way to 50 percent participation by our members. Any amount counts so please donate today if you haven’t already done so.
We all have so much to gain from CREW-St. Louis and CREW Network. I am humbled by all I have received thanks to this great organization. Here’s to finding your power to Disrupt by influencing the commercial real estate industry.
