Mande Meyer is General Counsel for Accurate Asphalt Paving Co., Inc.

The full-service, family-owned asphalt paving company specializes in new asphalt, milling and asphalt repair, serving the entire metro St. Louis area and surrounding counties since 1986.

Mande has worked here since she was 16, during her studies at SLU Law School, and now serves as the company’s general counsel.

Recently, Mande has also taken up business development for the company.
Q:        When did you decide to get into the commercial real estate industry? Was it always your focus?
A:        Commercial Real Estate was never a focus; law was.  It was not until after law school I realized I would be able to couple my love of law and my love of my family’s business. Actually, the company needed me to litigate a suit right after I got out of law school. I guess you could call it a sign!
Q:        What are some of the things you love about your job?
A:        Being a construction litigator has allowed me to protect our family’s business interests. I watched my father build this company my entire life, so being able to shield and defend it legally has been rewarding. I also love being able to see and speak to my father and brother on a daily basis.
Q:        What is your CREW-St. Louis origin? When did you join? Why did you become a member?
A:        I have been a member since the fall of 2017. I became a member so that I could make connections with other like-minded individuals. Being in CREW, you are able to surround yourself with savvy competent professionals, which as a young attorney is vital to my own professional development
Q:        What was the first CREW event you attended and what were your impressions?
A:        My first event was a new member happy hour. I was impressed with the “non-boundaries” of connections. I was able to start and hold conversations with women of all different professional levels and backgrounds. It is always refreshing to be around women who promote other women.
Q:        Please name a few of the projects you’ve been involved in, specifically in the St. Louis area that you are proud of.
A:        As General Counsel, my work is behind the scenes reviewing contracts, implementing OSHA, and filing liens/suits. However, as a company, a few of our projects have included the redevelopment at Northwest Plaza, the Jefferson Barracks Veterans Hospital, and various other large commercial projects around the St. Louis area.
Q:        What other associations or volunteer activities are you involved with?
A:        I also belong to the South County Police Business Association and the Associated General Contractors.
Q:        What else would you like your fellow CREW-St. Louis members to know about you?
A:        I am a police wife, something that can be very fascinating! My husband Dave and I have been together nine years, married for one. We currently reside in Affton, MO. Two major passions of mine are dogs and fashion. I currently have a fashion blog where I feature style trends and my dog, Vinny. Vinny is a local rescue; they think he is a boxer, shepard, great dane, pit bull mix. Whatever it is, we adore it!
