Greetings fellow CREW-St. Louis members,
How is your CREW year going? I hope you are taking advantage of all of your membership benefits. One that I use often is the CREWBiz app. It’s great when you’re planning a trip to take a little time out to meet a new member in a different city or just to grab contact information for your fellow St. Louis members.
The CREW Network Convention and Marketplace
will be here before you know it, and CREWBiz is a great way to search for members that you might want to connect with at the conference too. The conference will be held in Orlando, Florida -- be sure to book those hotel rooms early! This year, CREW-St. Louis is excited to be able to offer 8 scholarships at $1,500 each. That’s two more than last year, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors.
You might have noticed at our May program that we started recognizing our newer members with red ribbons on their nametags. Please make an extra effort to reach out to these members to welcome them, exchange stories and invite them to coffee or lunch. We appreciate your help in supporting them as they become more integrated into our wonderful organization.
The May program provided a look into the senior housing environment in St. Louis from leaders who were not only knowledgeable but passionate about the future of caring for seniors. If you couldn’t make it, you can gain some insights
from panelists Al Beamer, CEO of Focused Senior Communities; Stephanie Harris, CEO and principal of Arrow Senior Living; Jennifer Laupp, corporate marketing director at Allegro Management Company; and John Kotovsky, president and CEO of Lutheran Senior Services.
In other news, we have kicked off our mentoring program
at POE with Guest Speaker Steve Epner. It’s another great way to benefit from your membership.
Please remember to gain even more by considering leadership opportunities on our board or as a committee chair or co-chair. If you are interested in serving in such a leadership role, please contact Tracy Howren
by June 3rd. Let Tracy know the position you are interested in, along with a brief summary of your past CREW-St. Louis involvement. You will benefit immensely by taking a more active role in CREW-St. Louis.
Join us on June 11th as we learn about the changes that have taken place on Laclede’s Landing, and in July it’s time for our annual golf tournament. We still have a few teams left to fill as well as sponsorship and raffle donation opportunities.
As always, please feel free to contact me or a member of our board if you have any questions regarding your membership.
I look forward to seeing you soon!

2019 CREW-St. Louis President
