Dynamic Annual Dine Arounds
The chapter’s tradition of Dine Arounds proved to once again be successful as members came together to network at breakfast, lunch, happy hour or dinner at many of the area’s finest restaurants.
This year included 26 Dine Arounds, which have become a favorite for many members throughout the year.
“CREW dine arounds are a great way for CREW members to connect in a smaller group setting. They have always been one of my favorite CREW events of the year.” CREW President-Elect Tracy Howren notes, “We had a great time at our dine around at 1111 Mississippi. We had about 10 CREW members attend, and enjoyed a dynamic and fun conversation over lunch.”
Other venues included Herbies, Cantina Laredo, Kingside Diner, Stir Crazy, Carnivore on The Hill, Brio in Frontenac, First Watch in Kirkwood and Clayton, RISE Coffee House in The Grove, Clover & the Bee in Webster Groves, The Shack in Chesterfield and Frontenac, Robust in Clayton and many others. This gave members many opportunities to find the right time and place to enjoy time with their colleagues.
“There can be pressure and anxiety felt in entering a banquet hall with 200 attendees and the expectation to effectively ‘work the room,’” says Kristyn Newbern with S.M. Wilson, who hosted an event at Juniper in St. Louis.
“Dine arounds allow candid networking in a comfortable setting, where CREW members get to know a handful of others over a meal or drinks. It’s a win-win for all members, and an easy way to get to know your colleagues in the industry!”
In addition to the traditional Dine Arounds held this year, CREW-St. Louis President Michelle Yates hosted a Dine Around Happy Hour for new members only at Sasha’s in Clayton.
“I really enjoyed getting to know some of our newer members at our happy hour dine around at Sasha’s. I love hearing their individual stories, learning more about what they do and just having fun. The dine arounds provide that format -- thanks to our many hosts this year!” Michelle says.
