President’s Message

I hope that this message finds each of you healthy and safe. 

As the economy starts to reopen, we are all working to understand how to navigate this ‘new normal’, and how our work and clients will be affected both in the short and long term.

As members of CREW, we have unique opportunities to connect across commercial real estate disciplines in our industry, to learn from one another, and to take this opportunity to share information and ideas. I encourage each of you to engage with your fellow members, both within our chapter and across CREW Network, to help you to not only navigate this environment, but to be innovative in leading our industry to a successful future. We all continue to face both challenges and opportunities, and our collective knowledge can serve to move us forward in our careers, and in our personal lives as well. I continue to be impressed with how CREW members step up to help and support one another, and this deep connection continues to serve our members well.

Speaking of opportunities to connect and engage with one another, CREW-St. Louis has several upcoming opportunities to support, educate and provide great networking opportunities. On May 26, our chapter leadership hosted a call to inform you of the upcoming opportunities that are being offered by CREW-St. Louis and CREW Network.

Our chapter leadership and committees have been working hard to bring unique and meaningful programs to our membership. We will host several Zoom meetings in upcoming weeks, including networking ‘Dine Arounds’ as well as ‘CREW Conversations’, which will feature experts discussing timely topics within our industry. We are also working on hosting a Virtual Trivia night, which will be a great opportunity to network and have some fun, with proceeds benefitting CREW Foundation. We are continuing to explore small, outdoor group events in the coming weeks as well, including golf outings. As we explore these opportunities, we are keeping the safety of our members and guests as a top priority, and we are committed to finding ways to safely achieve our mission and provide great value to our members.

Additionally, we are also working on our leadership team transition in 2021. CREW-St. Louis is a great place to build on your leadership skills while making a difference in our community. If you are interested in serving as a Committee Chair or Co-Chair on our Advisory Board, or if you are interested in serving as a leader on our Executive Board, please reach out to Nancy Petersen. We are accepting nominations and will work to meet with all nominees over the summer as we finalize our leadership team for 2021. CREW-St. Louis has a long history of strong leadership, and we look forward to continuing that legacy in 2021 and beyond.

As a final note, I would like to thank all of our members, committee members, committee chairs, boards and sponsors for your continued commitment to CREW-St. Louis and its mission. This mission becomes even more meaningful and important during challenging times, and each of you makes an important difference in bettering our commercial real estate community. Thank you.
