Coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic has overcrowded TV screens and social media for several weeks, leaving people stuck at home and longing for something new and positive to fill their newsfeed. While John Krasinski covers “Some Good News” (#SGN) on Sundays, we thought we’d share “Some Good CREW News” (#SGCN). We all could use it!

Kate Hangge gave birth to the beautiful Eleanor Frances Hangge on April 22 at 5:20 a.m., weighing in at 5 lbs. 12 ounces (a little Earth Day baby)! Shout out to Kate’s rock star husband, Jeff Hangge. Welcome to our newest junior CREW-St. Louis member!

Congratulations are in order for Jen Nevil who was promoted to Principal of Lamar Johnson Collaborative!

In the midst of all the bad, Sarah Bundy and CD Companies wanted to do something positive for the community. The current pandemic has had a huge economic impact on local businesses all around the world and they have witnessed many wonderful local restaurants around St. Louis take a hard hit. CD Companies decided to show their support by inviting their staff to order food from their favorite local eateries (delivery or curbside pick-up, of course). Additionally, they donated to Meals for Meds for every employee who participated! CD Companies’ employees took videos of themselves with the food they purchased and Sarah Bundy streamed it all together with video footage of restaurants all over St. Louis to create a promotional video that would encourage the community to support our local restaurants! Papa, also known as Tim Sitek to CREW members, last saw his grandkids on March 16, the last day of a shortened Spring Break vacation. He finally got a long-awaited hug and kiss from Scott, Reagan and Morgan on May 10 to celebrate Mother's Day and his son's birthday. While he had seen them nearly every day on Facetime and they had their share of social-distancing gatherings, it wasn't the same. In the meantime, he often looked at these photos and their message to sustain him and brighten his day.

CREW student member and First American Title – St. Louis intern, Alicia Kapolis, has accepted a full-time position with First American after graduation!

Bamboo Equity Partners has teamed up with local furniture dealer, Working Spaces, to help small businesses during these times. They are now offering free rent at a few of their office buildings in Clayton and Sunset Hills through the end of 2020. By partnering with Working Spaces, these suites will also be fully furnished. Tenants will sign a five-year lease that includes the cost of the furniture and will not have a rent payment due until January 2021. This is Bamboo’s way of helping small businesses get back into the office while being able to fill some of the vacancies they currently have. The suites are available now! Congratulations to Erin Valentine who was promoted to Vice President of Business Development for McCarthy Building Companies’ 28-state Central Region!

Kim Bauer spearheaded the First American Title – St. Louis - work from home charity drive this month.  First American was able to collect enough funds to have their favorite caterer, “Let’s Do Lunch”, prepare 50+ gourmet hot and cold lunchboxes for frontline healthcare workers at Mercy Hospital.  The meals were delivered to the hospital on Thursday, May 21 by Kim and Dawn Humphreys. What a terrific way to give back to these essential workers!
