President’s Message

Hello!

Optimism reigns with progress in combatting the pandemic just in the past six or so weeks! Literally and figuratively, it’s a shot in the arm as more people become vaccinated. Warmer weather adds to the outlook. And we can now wear our masks less frequently.

Many of us look forward to returning to our offices after more than a year of working from home. What’s genuinely exciting is an opportunity to meet face to face with our CREW-St. Louis colleagues, as well as our clients. Zooming ahead in person and not on our smartphones and laptops!

This leads into a great summer, chockful of live – and lively – events and programs:

  • We are just days away from a fabulous kickoff event: CREW Network’s 2021 Leadership Summit held right here in Downtown St. Louis.
  • In July, we return to the links with our 24th Annual CREW-St. Louis Golf Classic, which unfortunately was put on hold last year.
  • We look forward to celebrating our 16th Annual CREW-St. Louis Networking Awards in August.
  • Plus, we will continue with our monthly educational monthly programs, DEI training and various Dine-Arounds.
  • And stay tuned for some Young Leader Group (YLG) events also coming soon!
We did not sit still during the last few months. We kicked off our 2021 Mentorship Program. Virtual tours included an in-depth look at The Delmar Maker District (Third Degree Glass Factory) with Doug Auer and North Medical Group’s new medical marijuana dispensary in Pevely with Zach Mangelsdorf. Members enjoyed numerous Dine-Arounds. We also attended several virtual programs provided by CREW Network.

Resilience abounds. It’s front and center in our planning and activities throughout the year. We changed course on topics, meeting locations, event sizes, timing and more. This ever-changing landscape has shown the resilience of our Committees, too, as they weigh the options and adjust their plans. Some of this required extra costs so we are extremely thankful for our Sponsors. Their generosity makes a big difference in our mission to make a difference.

Please reach out to me directly if I can help enhance your experience as a CREW-St. Louis Member. I strongly encourage you to visit our website to stay informed, and to review the opportunities to join one of our committees. With great thanks to Molly Studer, you’ll also find a new Careers section that shares job listings and resumes. All of this and more is right at your fingertips.

I look forward to sharing a beverage with you at our next in-person event! In the meantime, stay optimistic and healthy. And keep your resiliency handy as we find normalcy.

Sincerely,

Nancy Petersen
