“What A Day” At Annual Golf Classic
The 25th Annual CREW-St. Louis Golf Classic was one for the books! After an unusual year, golfers and volunteers alike, welcomed the sun (and yes, the heat) for a day of fun at Norwood Hills Country Club. For the first time ever, the tournament used both the East and West courses at Norwood, allowing 198 golfers – our largest turnout to date – to participate in the fun!
With two courses to cover, we managed to enjoy quite a few treats throughout the day. Favorites of the day included the “Salty Dog” beverage, courtesy of Bamboo/Intelica, and the Clementine’s ice cream, thanks to Armstrong Teasdale. Lamar Johnson Collaborative even provided golf balls of sunscreen to keep us protected!
Jenna Knatt of CI Select jumped in to help photograph across the two courses. “The day was hot, but the golf swings were hotter! Everyone seemed excited and energetic to be together. It was a really fun opportunity for me to photograph the event for the first time, and I appreciate all that were willing to pose silly for those fun shots!” You can catch the action and fun here:
“It was a beautiful day out on the course at the CREW-St. Louis golf tournament! It was a great day for getting a little fresh air while connecting with fellow industry colleagues with some laughter and friendly competition,” says Ashley Mendez of TOC Artwork.
At the conclusion of our friendly competition, we crowned new CREW-St. Louis Cup Challenge champions: Angie Drumm of Carmody MacDonald P.C., Liz Austin of Green Street Real Estate Ventures, Mark Delcourt of CNB STL Bank, and Jason Penfield of Commerce Bank. The foursome will have their names inscribed on the prestigious cup and have earned bragging rights.
Not only did we celebrate the winning team, but also several Closest to the Hole and Longest Drive winners:
Closest to the Hole:
• Dan Burke - East course
• Denny Crain - West course
• Jacki Hudnall - East course
• Linda Ivanhoff - West course
• Tommy Shelby - East course
• Tony Randazzo - West course
• Jane Maddoz - East course
• Lisa Morrison - West course
Emily Ackley of the Staenberg Group, and a new member to CREW-St. Louis, comments on her day volunteering: “What an incredible time spent volunteering at this year’s Golf Classic! It was a fun-filled day being surrounded by fellow CREW-St. Louis members and participants. It was an honor monitoring the Women’s Longest Drive hole and witnessing the power each woman who participated demonstrated.”
After a day in the sun, we gathered for a networking reception where more than $1,500 was raised for CREW Network Foundation.
Christie Brinkman says it best: “The CREW-St. Louis golf outing is always one of my favorite tournaments of the year! This year was extra special since it was our first in-person event in quite some time. The networking, the fun treats and beverages from sponsors and great weather made the day enjoyable!”
