Making Connections Through Wine and Bourbon
Members love Dine-Arounds. Well, how about a Wine-Around! Even better, throw in some bourbon. Michelle Hamilton and Liz DeBold Austin did just that when they organized a wine and bourbon tasting networking event on March 17 at the Clayton Wine House.
The sold-out event on St. Patrick’s Day did not disappoint. “There was wonderful representation of all ages and markets from CREW-St. Louis,” says Susan Bowen. “Our private Sommelier taught us about wine and bourbon as we tasted and chose which ones we preferred, but somehow, I went home with a bottle of vodka and a box of chocolates!
“We moved from the inside bar area to the outdoor patio as it was a beautiful evening, kicking off Spring events for all of us,” Susan adds. “I imagine it will be the first of many in the conveniently located event space.”
Most everyone stayed well past the time it officially ended. “It was a great event, and I enjoyed the chance to connect with other members that I hadn’t had much one-on-one time within the past,” says Bonnie Basler. “It felt like a large Dine-Around, which was nice. I would love to have similar events in the future with a limited number of attendees but larger than a typical Dine-Around.”
