President's Message

June 29, 2022

Hello Fellow CREW-St. Louis Members!

In reflecting on the President’s letter for this issue, I am in awe of our great CREW-St. Louis membership. I specifically admire our leaders and volunteers for their belief in and dedication to our mission, executing with a strong desire to make every event a valuable experience for anyone attending. CREW-St. Louis operates as one great team, a team that makes me proud as one of its players.

Over the past 60 days, we accomplished so much. We recognized members as part of 17th Annual Networking Awards. The Executive Board provided a Strategic Plan update to our Advisory Board and overall membership. We held a joint program with ULI to discuss tax incentives to spur development. Fourteen members attended the CREW Network Spring Leadership Summit in Indianapolis. And we offered several smaller events such as hikes, Dine-Arounds, happy hours and more.

We reached 340 people at our events since my newsletter at the end of April. Impressively, 93 of those attendees were non-members, or almost three out of 10. Wow! What a great opportunity to expand your business network with CREW!!

Additionally, we received recognition at the Spring Leadership Summit for meeting the Trifecta. This Chapter challenge raises money for the CREW Network Foundation to transform the commercial real estate industry by advancing women globally! Hats off to the Education and Engagement Committee for their great work in pushing this over the finish line!

We are far from finished. Summertime showcases two great networking opportunities. First, we scheduled two weeks of Dine-Arounds, with 29 options of breakfast, lunch or happy hour during the weeks of July 11th and July 18th. Second, we hit the links on Aug. 1st for the 26th Annual CREW-St. Louis Golf Classic, the industry’s premier golf and networking event. I highly encourage you to sign up to attend both events, and if you can’t commit to a full day of golf, then please come join us for the networking happy hour afterwards!!

And, for our newer members, please note that our Chapter provides several $1,500 scholarships to the CREW Network Convention that will be held in Chicago this year from Sept. 21-23. Please submit your name by June 30th to win one of these scholarships so you can join myself and other St. Louis members as well as members from all around the world. Plus, the speakers are amazing. The Friday Lunch Program headlines a Conversation with Lisa Ling, Executive Producer and Host of This is Life on CNN!

Following the Convention, CREW-St. Louis will celebrate its 40th Anniversary at the Coronado on Wednesday, Oct. 12th. The evening will be filled with networking, dinner, music and a few shout-outs to reflect on where we have been, to celebrate our accomplishments and a springboard for our future! And, if you like, please wear your best 1940s party attire to really enjoy this spectacular event!! I hope you can join all of us.

In closing, the CREW-St. Louis Nominating Committee received several outstanding nominations for the 2023 Executive and Advisory Boards. We plan to roll out the 2023 Slate to membership by July 9th in advance of the Aug. 9th Business Meeting. As someone who has taken on various leadership roles within CREW-St. Louis and has benefited greatly from those experiences, I encourage everyone to embrace these opportunities and continue to nominate yourself in the future!

Wishing you a great rest of your summer full of laughter and successes!
