Building A Foundation

We had a wonderful turnout at our August DEI event on Building Equity! Balkan Treat Box catered a 90-minute interactive workshop facilitated by Gladiator Consulting LLC. Members participated in an activity that helped bring a shared language to the diversity and inclusion work to which we are committed, and that shared language and open brainstorming paved a strong foundation that we will continue to build upon as individuals and as an organization. The room was filled with vulnerability, camaraderie and humor, and each one of us walked away with a lot to think about. Thank you so much to Cushman and Wakefield for the generous use of their gorgeous Maryville space!

Recognizing A Leader

The St. Louis DEI Committee would like to recognize one of our most special members for her recent diversity award! Helen Lee, a principal at Tao + Lee Architects, recently received the St. Louis Business Journal’s “Champions for Diversity and Inclusion” 2022 award, which recognizes individuals who strive to make St. Louis a more inclusive and equitable place to live and work. Helen, like past recipients of this prestigious award, are actively making DE&I goals the standard in their communities and workplaces so all people can thrive and grow. Helen is a community advocate in the Asian American and Pacific Islander, professional women, arts and sustainable environment spaces, and this award was well-deserved recognition of the communities she tirelessly serves.

SAVE THE DATE for two DE&I trainings that CREW is sponsoring this fall! Each session runs from 11:00 a.m-12:30 p.m. and covers a different topic. The October session was on the Importance of Inclusion and Belonging. The two remaining sessions are scheduled for Nov. 9 and Dec. 6. Please mark your calendars and register for these FREE events on the CREW-St. Louis website.
