Building A Foundation; Recognizing A Leader

Happy Holidays CREW-St. Louis from the DEI Committee!!

We would like to announce a change in committee leadership for 2023:  Michelle Yates will be taking over for Christy Merdinian as DEI Committee Chair, and Rebecca Thessen is taking over for Marissa Curran as DEI Committee Co-Chair.

Michelle is a business development director at Landco, which is a WBE-certified interior construction company. She joined CREW-St. Louis in 2008, and has served in several volunteer roles, including President in 2019. As Chair of the DEI Committee, Michelle looks forward to helping the committee build on its successes and increase its outreach in our community.

Rebecca is a commercial real estate broker with L3 Corporation. She specializes in retail and office leasing and sales. Rebecca joined CREW-St. Louis in April 2022, where she sits on the Young Professionals and DEI Committees. As DEI Committee Co-Chair, she is looking forward to bringing more diversity awareness and engagement with other DEI-focused organizations in the St. Louis area. Rebecca was born in Hong Kong, and she lived there for the first decade of her childhood. She speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English!

Please join us in welcoming Michelle and Rebecca!!

As we gear up for the usual holiday madness and take stock on how we have spent our last year, let’s reflect on the following sentiment that has been echoing around our work as a committee:

Diversity is having a seat at the table; inclusion is having a voice in the room; and belonging is having that voice be heard.

Here’s to having our own voices heard, and to amplifying the voices of others. Cheers to 2023!
