About Us

Meet CREW-St. Louis

In 1982 six commercial real estate brokers – Lynn Schenk, Donita Rachel, Vicki Dolan, Linda Guenther, Ellie Bush and Linda Poinsett – met at Busch’s Grove to trade leads, share stories and discuss how they could work together in a business with very few women in leadership positions.

That pioneer group of female brokers launched CREW-St. Louis. Today, it serves as the region’s premier networking organization for women in commercial real estate. CREW-St. Louis offers its members and the industry year-round educational programs and social events.

CREW-St. Louis advances, educates and supports women to influence the commercial real estate industry. CREW-St. Louis furthers its mission through:

  • Leadership: We prepare women to play pivotal roles in the future of the commercial real estate industry.
  • Excellence:  We strive for quality and integrity in all our work.
  • Influence: We believe that collectively we have the power to be an agent of positive change.
  • Community: We support, assist and cultivate loyalty among our multi-disciplinary members.
  • Advancement: We promote the contributions of women in commercial real estate.

With more than 200 members from nearly every discipline in commercial real estate, CREW-St. Louis stands as one of the largest of CREW Network’s more than 75 chapters across the globe. This diverse network of 12,000 commercial real estate professionals provides our members with the resources to create new and different ways of structuring deals, to focus on the bottom line and to inspire others to work as a team to get the job done.

Our mission

CREW-St. Louis advances, educates and supports women to influence the commercial real estate industry.

Our history

In 1977, eight female CRE brokers met at Busch’s Grove to discuss how they would work together in a business with very few women in leadership positions. Five years later, they took their network to the next level, forming the St. Louis chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW).

These pioneers put St. Louis in the forefront of change, starting four years ahead of similar chapters on the East Coast and five years ahead of a similar group on the West Coast. The St. Louis chapter led a growing national trend, even eclipsing the formation of the national organization (fka NNCREW) by seven years.

Our Initiatives

Business Networking

Facilitating business networking and deal making among our multi-disciplinary membership is the cornerstone of our organization. We deliver impactful networking opportunities including three Leadership Summits and the CREW Network Convention and Marketplace annually. Members also have exclusive access to our CREWbiz technology platform, which serves as a membership directory, resource and referral center, personal marketing tool and app.

Industry Research

CREW Network is the world’s leading researcher on women in commercial real estate. Our industry research produces white papers annually and a benchmark study every five years, delivering data and action items to advance women in commercial real estate and positively impact the industry.

Leadership Development

Building effective leaders is key to advancing the commercial real estate industry. We dedicate significant resources to providing our members with high-level leadership development training and opportunities to serve on global boards and committees to develop and hone applicable leadership skills.

Career Outreach

CREW Network and our Foundation are committed to bringing more women into commercial real estate by creating programs that educate women and girls about the career opportunities available to them, supporting college-level commercial real estate education through scholarships, and providing mentorships to those new to the industry.
