Greetings fellow CREW-St. Louis members,
“What I found over the years is the most important thing is for a team to come together over a compelling vision, a comprehensive strategy for achieving that vision, and then a relentless implementation plan,” observed Alan Mulally, the legendary CEO of Ford Motor Co. CREW-St. Louis has a vision. CREW-St. Louis has a plan. And, we continue to make steady progress on achieving our vision and carrying on our mission.
A few years ago, we engaged the Rome Group in helping us crystalize our vision. We developed a strategic plan, with wide-ranging goals and objectives across a spectrum of our future vision: Membership, Programs, Revenues, Brand Awareness and Leadership. Each of these areas received intense scrutiny, with specific goals and objectives established. The hard part: Taking the necessary action to move forward in a cohesive, collaborative way.
And following Mulally’s sage advice, this is more than a plan on the shelf. We continue to review and monitor our progress and recalibrate the plan when necessary.
As part of this exercise, we dedicated our recent board meeting on July 19 to revisiting our strategic plan. Most importantly, our more than 20 board members and advisory members who chair our many committees provided a comprehensive snapshot of what they have accomplished, what’s still in the works, and what more needs to be done to reach their goals and objectives.
This mid-year checkup can be summed up in one word: Impressive. The dedication and energy of our board, chairs and countless committee members are commendable and contagious. We pull together, united in our vision and our mission. We continue to Disrupt as we advance, educate and support women to influence the commercial real estate industry.
We are well on our way in ensuring our future. Yes, we still have plenty to achieve but it’s remarkable how far we’ve come. I won’t go into all the details of this enlightening review but I’ll share just one example.
The recent 22nd Annual Golf Classic was a success on many fronts. Complete sell out. Amazing networking during the evening reception. Incredible branding with our new logo. Wide support from sponsors. Valuable funds raised to advance the objectives of CREW Network Foundation. Tireless efforts from our many volunteers during the event. And yes, it’s become the premier networking and golf event in the region’s CRE industry.
This did not happen by accident. The Golf Committee and its many subcommittees drove the greens. The Ambassadors Committee supported the pre-event Clinic at Norwood Hills Country Club and welcomed our guests. Communications helped promote the event, including our new logo. Vision achieved.
Keep the vision. Help us relentlessly implement our plan. Get involved. We are going places thanks to our direction and the members who embrace this journey.
