President's Message

Greetings fellow CREW-St. Louis members,

We just finished another great program at TopGolf, the new entertainment development in Chesterfield Valley. It is an impressive facility and another great venue for our members to expand their knowledge while enjoying a fun atmosphere to network.
Yes, we continue on our mission to disrupt by working together to advance, educate and support women to influence this great industry. Our tour of TopGolf and the time we spent together in the golf hitting bays are just a slice (pardon the pun) of this journey.
This journey hit home when Sharon Herrin visited during a special Dine-Around on Aug. 22. Sharon serves as a CREW Network Director and as board liaison to our chapter. She shared her story in the industry, the trials and tribulations, the risks and rewards. She started her own firm in 2002 and has achieved great success in serving property owners with more than one-half million square feet of retail and income-producing properties throughout North Texas.
Sharon pointed to her long-term involvement with CREW as a vital part of her journey. She has been a member of CREW Dallas since 1990 and developed leadership skills while chairing many committees and eventually serving as the Chapter President. She also has served as a CREW Network Delegate and a Board Trustee for the CREW Network Foundation, and Co-Chaired Sponsorship for the 2013 CREW Network Convention and Marketplace held in Dallas. Her efforts earned her induction into the CREW Visionaries program in 2007.
Yes, Sharon continues to reap the benefits of her membership while also always remembering to give back.
As for the benefits, remember that CREW Network stands 11,000 strong across the country and now across the globe. You are never more than a phone call or email from connecting with this network. Plus, you can share your expertise or find an expert on CREWbiz, a members-only community to give and get business. Don’t forget the value of CREW Network Foundation, either, which produces invaluable research to support our mission. And leadership training and opportunities abound.
The upcoming CREW Network Convention and Marketplace in San Diego rates as a tremendous benefit and opportunity to expand your horizons, advance your knowledge and meet hundreds of professionals. We will be well-represented, with 20 CREW-St. Louis members heading out West for this annual event. This includes five members who were awarded scholarships to help defray the cost of attending: Sharon Henderson, Mickey Warriner, Samantha Hurrell, Michelle Chambliss and Jennifer Nevil. All of us will come back inspired!
I also want to encourage all members to attend our Annual Business Meeting on Oct. 9. Register for this important program to elect and meet next year’s leadership team and committee chairs. As an added benefit, you’ll participate in the evening’s speed networking session. What an opportunity to learn more about leadership and develop new connections!
CREW-St. Louis and CREW Network offer a wealth of benefits and resources. Take advantage of all your organization offers. The decision to renew is easy when you realize it’s an investment that brings many dividends.
Best Regards,
Lynn T. Goessling
