For the 23rd Annual CREW-St. Louis Golf Classic, the intense heat took a break allowing the 36 teams participating in this year’s event to have a beautiful day to hit the links at Norwood Hills Country Club. Good times and fun were had by the 144 golfers on the course, while also enjoying pretzels, courtesy of Lawrence Group; Mojitos and boozie sno-cones, courtesy of Working Spaces; and a Hawaiian decorated drink cart that made its way around the course multiple times, courtesy of McCarthy Building Companies.
“This year’s CREW-St. Louis Golf Tournament raised the bar once again,” says Erin Valentine with McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. “First of all, the weather was amazing but even without that, the details were spot on with great networking at lunch, on the turns, and after. Huge kudos to the Golf Committee members for their hard work. It definitely paid off and we can’t wait for next year!”
We crowned a new CREW-St. Louis Cup Challenge champion this year, too, a tradition now in its fifth year. Our friends from SmithAmundsen, Darren Grady, Bill Hackney and Joe Demko, and Matt Guymon with Twain Financial Partners took the honors. The foursome will have their names inscribed on the cup and earned bragging rights.
Merri Cross with ACI Boland Architects won closest to the hole on Hole 13, while Becky Bahn Kingston with Colliers was so close to sinking a hole-in-one on Hole 8.
“The CREW-St. Louis Golf Classic is another example of how fun our industry is!” says Amanda Warren with CI Select. “Regardless of whether you were playing in the tournament or volunteering, everyone was interacting, socializing and enjoying themselves.”
New member Lindsey Conner with McCarthy attended this year’s Golf Classic and could not have been more excited.
“As a new member, this was my first time at the CREW-St. Louis golf tournament and it did not disappoint!” says Lindsey, who was one of the friendly faces in the Hawaiian decorated drink cart, making sure golfers stayed happy throughout the event.
“We had a blast in the Hawaiian beverage cart and the positive energy from the folks out on the course played a big role in that. Everyone was extremely welcoming, and it definitely has me looking forward to our next event.”
Once everyone had gotten back to the clubhouse after finishing their golf games, a special recognition was presented to Stacey Hudson, a long-time CREW member, with POE. Stacey has donated countless hours to CREW-St. Louis over the past decade photographing CREW events.
“This golf tournament is one for the memory books!” Stacy says. “The incredible weather made it a beautiful day to spend outside and receiving recognition for doing something I love was so special. I can’t thank everyone enough for the recognition and the plaque.”
Also as part of the networking cocktail/dinner, various donated items were raffled with the proceeds benefitting the CREW Network Foundation.
