CREW-St. Louis Hobbies

As we are all spending more time at home, CREW-St. Louis members are staying active with hobbies.  Here are a few CREW-St. Louis members sharing their hobbies!

Cindy Bambini
Not only has Cindy been working from home, as a Certified Balanced Body Mat and Reformer Pilates Instructor she has been teaching fitness classes online! “I taught two mat Pilates classes via Zoom each week for a studio I work for in the real world and two private reformer classes per week with some of my friends who have Pilates reformers at home.” Check out Cindy’s classes here

Connie Kroenung
Connie and her family kept busy with some at home projects, including painting the exterior of their home! In addition to painting the house, Connie used paint to make a large chalkboard wall out of the retaining wall in their front yard to communicate and spread joy to their neighbors. “We noticed that the foot traffic in front of our house increased a lot during quarantine, and we wanted to communicate with all those lovely people walking by so we drew inspirational messages and pictures for our neighbors and they did the same for us. It was a lot of fun.”

Ashley Mendez
Like many of us, Ashley found a safe way to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air. “My latest new hobby is running outside. It’s my way of getting a mental outlet when I am feeling all cooped up inside. The fresh air helps me tremendously. This is a path that I have been running on a lot recently. It’s peaceful and gorgeous. I snapped this photo on a recent run.”

Katie Flaschar
Katie has found herself in the kitchen during quarantine – and based on the picture above, she’s become quite the chef! “I was NOT a cook – with no desire to become one – before but I started making a few recipes, started experimenting and have been pretty pleased with some of the dishes I’ve made over the past few weeks.

Kirsten Malloy
“I’ve used the extra time at home as a chance to prove to myself (and my family) I can keep plants alive. I started a small veggie garden - that is now providing more cucumbers and tomatoes than we can eat! I also spruced up some areas around our home with some perennials, like these bold lilies that add some color for friends and neighbors walking by."

Dawn Humphreys
Dawn has also used her time at home during quarantine to fill her home garden with some lovely flowers, leafy greens and even lily pads!
